Template Capabilities Matrix

A list of what document templates can and cannot do. Use it to check requirements before you adopt Re:port Flow.

Status legend
  • Supported: Available as a standard feature.
  • Partial: Possible with limitations, which are noted.
  • Not supported: Not currently available.
  • Unverified: Not confirmed to work; results are not guaranteed.

Formulas are entered on the Variables & formulas tab of the text editor. Variables are referenced as @parameterName (see Variable Basics for the basics and the Formula Reference for every operator and function). The samples below show the output when @amount is 1234567 and @invoiceDate is 2026-10-01.

Thousands separators

Supported

comma(@amount)            → 1,234,567

The format preset number-comma gives the same result.

  • comma() rounds to at most 3 decimal places and drops trailing zeros (1234.50 → 1,234.5). To keep a fixed number of decimals, use a custom format such as #,##0.00 (1234.5 → 1,234.50).

Currency symbols

Partial

concat("¥", comma(@amount))     → ¥1,234,567
concat(comma(@amount), "円") → 1,234,567円
concat("$", comma(@amount)) → $1,234,567
  • The only currency preset is the yen sign (number-currency → ¥1,234,567).
  • Add other currency symbols with concat(). Grouping is always comma-every-3-digits; locale-specific styles (for example 1.234.567,00) are not available.

Decimals and rounding

Supported

round(1234.567, 2)   → 1234.57
floor(1234.5) → 1234
ceil(1234.1) → 1235
  • The format preset number-decimal-0 (no decimals) truncates instead of rounding. Use round() to round.

Date formats

Supported

dateFormat(@invoiceDate, "YYYY年M月D日")   → 2026年10月1日
dateFormat(@invoiceDate, "YYYY/MM/DD") → 2026/10/01
  • You can pass a time zone as the third argument. If omitted, the workspace setting is used, or Japan time (Asia/Tokyo) if none is set.
  • When the date passed to dateFormat() is empty (missing or an empty string), it renders as blank (it is never filled with today's date).

Japanese era (wareki)

Supported

dateFormat(@invoiceDate, "GGGGy年M月D日")   → 令和8年10月1日
dateFormat(@invoiceDate, "Gyy.MM.DD") → R08.10.01
TokenMeaningExample
GGGGEra name (kanji)令和
GEra initialR
yYear of the era8
yyYear of the era (zero-padded)08
  • Meiji, Taisho, Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa are supported, switching on the exact date of each era change (2019-04-30 is Heisei 31; 2019-05-01 is Reiwa 1).
  • The first year is shown as 1, not 元年.
  • For dates before Meiji, the era tokens are not replaced.

Day of week

Supported

dateFormat(@invoiceDate, "M月D日(E)")      → 10月1日(木)
dateFormat(@invoiceDate, "EEEE") → 木曜日

Day names are output in Japanese.

Date arithmetic

Supported

dateFormat(dateAdd(@invoiceDate, 30, "days"), "YYYY/MM/DD")   → 2026/10/31
dateDiff(@startDate, @endDate, "days") → difference between the two dates in days

Units are days / months / years / hours / minutes.

Conditions

Switching values: Supported / Showing or hiding objects: Not supported

if(@amount >= 100000, "Approval required", "")
coloredIf(@balance < 0, @balance, "#D32F2F", "#000000")
  • if() switches the text to display. Return an empty string ("") to show nothing.
  • coloredIf() switches the text color by condition; colored() sets a fixed color.
  • There is no setting to show or hide an object itself (shape, image, table, etc.) by condition. Not supported (contact us if you need it). For now, use an empty value instead.

Boolean labels

Supported

Format presets replace true / false with these labels.

PresetTrueFalse
○ / ×○×
はい / いいえはいいいえ
有 / 無有無
✓ only✓(blank)
Custome.g. Donee.g. Pending

Arithmetic and per-row calculations

Supported

@items.unitPrice * @items.quantity   → unit price × quantity on each row
floor(@subtotal * 0.1) → consumption tax (rounded down)
  • Operators: + - * / %, comparisons (== != > < >= <=), and the logical operators and / or / not (the function forms and() / or() / not() also work). and and or have the same precedence, so add parentheses when you mix them (Formula Reference).
  • An expression that references a table column is evaluated row by row with that row's values.
  • Division by zero renders as blank.

Column totals and per-tax-rate subtotals

Not supported

There is no function to total a table column (a SUM equivalent) and no per-tax-rate subtotal feature. Not supported (contact us if you need it).

Calculate subtotals, tax, and totals on the caller side (your program or integration) and pass them as parameters.

{
"params": {
"subtotal": 100000,
"tax": 10000,
"total": 110000
}
}

Page numbers

Supported

concat(currentPage(), " / ", totalPages())   → 1 / 3

Page breaks in long tables

Supported

  • When line items do not fit on one page, rows move to the next page one row at a time.
  • The header row is repeated at the top of each following page.
  • Transposed (horizontal) tables, where rows and columns are swapped, are not split by row.

Zero or few line items

Supported

  • Set a minimum row count on a table to fill missing rows with blank rows. Even with zero data rows, the minimum number of blank rows is shown.
  • Without a minimum row count, only the data rows are shown.

Page breaks in long text

Partial

  • When a text box would cross the bottom of a page, the whole text box moves to the next page. A single text box cannot be split across two pages.
  • For text too long to fit on one page, split it into separate text boxes, for example one per paragraph.

Fonts

Japanese: Supported / Chinese, Latin and Devanagari: Unverified / Right-to-left scripts and Thai: Not supported / Vietnamese etc.: Unverified

  • We have not confirmed that Vietnamese characters with tone marks are set correctly (unverified). Check the output with your real data before using them.

Tagged PDF (document structure for screen readers)Not supported (contact us if you need it)
Digital signatures and timestampsNot supported (contact us if you need it)

Japanese qualified invoices

Partial

Templates use a free-form layout, so the items a Japanese qualified invoice (適格請求書) must show — registration number, totals and applicable rates per tax rate, consumption tax per rate, and so on — can be included by placing them as parameters.

The following are not available. Not supported (contact us if you need them).

  • Automatic checks that all required items are present
  • Per-tax-rate aggregation (see Column totals; pass the totals as parameters)
  • Format validation of the registration number

Share URL expiry and revocation

Partial

ItemStatus
Set sharing scope at generation (workspace / invited users / public URL)Supported (content.shareType in the generation API)
Protect a public URL with a passcodeSupported (content.passcodeEnabled; the passcode is returned only in the response right after generation)
Expiry for public URLsNot supported (no expiry; contact us if you need it)
Revoking a public URLChange the sharing scope back to "workspace" in the web app and the URL stops opening the PDF
Changing or revoking sharing through the API (appkey)Not supported (contact us if you need it)
  • After a passcode is entered, the viewing session lasts 24 hours.
  • If you switch back to "workspace" and later make the PDF public again, the same public URL works again. To get a different URL, generate the PDF again.

Barcodes, QR codes, and charts

Supported

  • You can place barcodes and QR codes.
  • Charts support pie, bar, and line charts.
